Lois S. Bagel, 61, Archives staff member

Services were held Sept. 3 in Delaware Park Memorial Chapel for Lois S. Bagel, a longtime key staff member with UB Archives. Bagel, 61, died Aug. 31 at her home in the Town of Tonawanda after a long illness.

Bagel's more than 20-year career at UB was spent primarily with the University Libraries. She joined UB in the credit-free program in 1973, was in charge of circulation and reserve with the Undergraduate Library from 1977-81, then joined the Archives, where she worked until her retirement in 1994.

Her assistance as the first point of contact for visitors and researchers to the comprehensive archives was acknowledged by many authors, including Brendan Gill, in his "Many Masks: A Life of Frank Lloyd Wright."
