Training in self-care to be offered

Self-care—maintaining one’s own health—is critical for those in the helping professions, especially first responders and those helping others deal with trauma such as sexual violence. Understanding compassion fatigue and what can be done to improve self-care is essential to providing quality services to students and the community.

Counseling Services will offer an in-service training session in self-care from 9:30-11 a.m. March 23 in Goodyear X, South Campus. The training, which is free and open to all members of the UB community, will be presented by Melinda Z. Haggerty of Counseling Services.

The training is sponsored by the UB Violence Prevention Committee.

Anyone interested in attending should email Ashley Bennett at well.anb6@vpsa.buffalo.edu to register. Seating is limited.
