  • PSS sponsors brown bag workshops

The PSS Staff Development Committee has organized a two-part brown-bag lunch workshop series this spring focused on helping professional staff members prepare for new job opportunities.

Part 1, “Resumes: What every professional should know,” will be on March 22 in 330 Student Union, North Campus, and on March 23 in 104 Parker Hall, South Campus.

Part 2, “Interviewing: What Every Professional Should Know,” will be held on April 12 in 330 Student Union and on April 13 in 104 Parker Hall.

All sessions will be held from noon to 1 p.m.

  • Join UB’s Relay for Life team

The American Cancer Society and the UB Against Cancer chapter invite faculty, staff and students to join the UB team for the Relay For Life, a fundraiser for the cancer society being held March 26-27 in Alumni Arena, North Campus.

The theme for this year’s relay is “One World Against Cancer.” Each team is asked to pick a country and organize its “campsite” and fundraising activities around that country.

During the relay, individuals and teams camp out and take turns walking or running around a track “relay” style to raise funds to fight cancer. At nightfall, participants will light hundreds of luminaria around the track to honor cancer survivors, as well as remember those who have died from the disease.

The registration fee is $10 in advance and $20 at the door. Participants raising a minimum of $50 will receive a free event T-shirt.
