  • Don’t cancel class

Faculty members who cannot teach a scheduled class due to professional or family obligations can arrange for the Student Wellness Team to cover their class by presenting on a topic that is relevant to college students.

The workshops offered by the Student Wellness Team—Counseling Services, Wellness Education Services and Health Services—are 50-90 minutes and can be adapted to fit faculty members’ requirements. Two weeks’ notice is requested.

Topics range from UB’s smoke-free campus policy and handling stress to diversity and health and wellness.

Visit the “Don’t Cancel Class” Workshops website for specific topics and contact information.

  • Freezin for a reason

UB faculty, staff and students are encouraged to join the UB team participating in the second annual Polar Plunge into Lake Erie on Dec. 4 to benefit the Special Olympics.

All Team UB members are asked to raise a minimum of $25 to participate in the plunge; those raising at least $100 will receive an official Special Olympics Polar Plunge sweatshirt.

UB will provide transportation to Hamburg Town Beach—site of the plunge—for all UB team members who register through the Special Olympics website.

For more information, visit the UB Polar Plunge website or contact Amy Wilson at abwilson@buffalo.edu.
