  • Nominations sought for mentoring award

The Office of the Vice Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Education is seeking nominations from faculty, staff and students of candidates for the UB Faculty Award for Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity.

The award, which was given for the first time in 2011—recipients were Lynne Koscielniak, John Ringland, Kate Rittenhouse-Olson, Kenneth Takeuchi and Jennifer Zirnheld—recognizes faculty whose commitment to mentoring gives UB undergraduates opportunities to conduct research and scholarship that are not routinely available at many institutions.

Nominations must be received by March 2. Award winners will be recognized at the annual Celebration of Student Academic Excellence, to be held on April 5.

For more information and a nomination form, visit the award’s website.

Wellness & Work/Life Balance again is offering discount tickets to the Buffalo Home and Garden Show March 9-11 and March 16-18 in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center in downtown Buffalo.

UB faculty and staff can save 50 percent by entering the promotional code UOFB when purchasing tickets online.
