Stephen Tiffany, Empire Innovation Professor in the Department of Psychology, College of Arts and Sciences, has been named to the Risk, Prevention and Intervention for Addictions Study Section, Center for Scientific Review, National Institutes of Health. Study sections review grant applications submitted to the NIH, make recommendations on these applications to the appropriate NIH national advisory council or board, and survey the status of research in their fields of science.
A 1912 photo of Isabelle Martin from the Frank Lloyd Wright-Darwin D. Martin Collection held by the University Archives, UB Libraries, is featured on the cover of the September issue of College & Research Libraries News. The photo portrays Martin, wife of Darwin D. Martin, arranging flowers in the Martin House in Buffalo. She is wearing a dress designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the architect who drew up plans for the house in 1902 at the request of her husband. The photo was taken by Louise F. Mueller.
Marilyn Stevens, assistant coordinator for the Region 2 Technical Assistance and Continuing Education (TACE) Center, part of the Center for Rehabilitation Synergy, Graduate School of Education, was one of 24 women honored as a “woman of influence” by Business First. Stevens received a Behind the Scenes Award recognizing women “who though they may not have the big title or corner office, are a driving force behind the success of their employer.”
