  • New shuttle line better connects South, Downtown campuses

In response to rider demand, Parking and Transportation Services has created a new, faster and more convenient shuttle service connecting the Downtown and South campuses.

The new Blue Line shuttle merges the routes of the original Blue and Orange lines into a more convenient, direct-to-downtown ride without the hassle of transferring from shuttle to shuttle. The Orange Line has been discontinued.

The Blue Line is designed to more effectively connect the campuses by increasing the number of departures and eliminating unnecessary stops.

Two Blue Line shuttles operate daily, with the first shuttle departing the Parker lot on the South Campus at 6:25 a.m. each weekday and the final shuttle dropping off at Main Circle at 8:30 p.m.

  • Join colleagues at the University Club

UB faculty and staff are invited to attend the weekly University Club, an informal gathering that offers an opportunity to share ideas, foster collegiality and make new friends.

The club, sponsored by the Office of the Provost, Faculty Senate and Professional Staff Senate, is held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Tiffin Room in the Student Union, North Campus, through Dec. 9. There will be no program on Nov. 25 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Complimentary light refreshments will be served.

  • Pediatrician to offer tantrum tips

Noted pediatrician Harvey Karp, B.A. ’72, will offer parents and grandparents tips to help stop tantrums and boost toddler patience and cooperation during a talk at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in the Center for Tomorrow, North Campus.

The talk is sponsored by the Employee Chapter of the UB Alumni Association, the UB Childcare Center and the Wellness and Work/Life Balance unit of University Human Resources.

Karp is author of The Happiest Baby on the Block and The Happiest Toddler on the Block. His appearance will include a question-and-answer session.

Tickets for the talk are $5. To purchase tickets, click here or call 645-3312 by Sept. 29.
