Aceto dance company to perform at Infringement Festival

Melanie Aceto Dance Company, a modern dance company established by UB faculty member Melanie Aceto, will give three performances during Buffalo Infringement Festival 2014.

The infringement festival features a broad range of eclectic, independent, experimental and controversial art of all forms. It takes place in multiple venues over 11 days in and around Buffalo’s Allentown neighborhood.

The schedule for Melanie Aceto Dance Company:

  • “Dance Sampler,” 1-2 p.m. July 26, and 2-3 p.m. July 27, Karpeles Manuscript Library, 453 Porter Ave. A program of contemporary dance will be performed by Aceto, associate professor of music; Anne Burnidge, assistant professor of music; Laurie MacFarlane; and Ruben Ornelas.
  • Tuesday Evening at Hallwalls, 8-10 p.m. July 29, Hallwalls Cinema, 341 Delaware Ave. Aceto will perform “Liaison,” a work by UB music composition student Megan Beugger with choreography by Aceto.
  • “Shifting Density, 6-8 p.m. Aug. 1, The Dress Shop, 89 Allen St. In this dance installation piece composed by Aceto and featuring live music by Lawrence Rizutto, spectators are invited to come at any time and stay as long as they want.
