The search for the next vice president for student life has begun with the appointment of a search committee chaired by Mark Alnutt, director of athletics.

The search is seeking a successor to A. Scott Weber, who left the position to assume the role of provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. Christina Hernandez has been serving as interim vice president.

The search committee, appointed by President Satish K. Tripathi, includes UB senior leadership, faculty, staff and students.

UB also has hired the consulting firm Spelman Johnson to assist with the search. Mark A. Hall, vice president, will be the principal from the firm working on this search.

The search committee will begin its work very shortly, Tripathi says, with the goal of making an appointment by the end of the spring semester.

Throughout the coming months, Alnutt will update the university community on the committee’s progress. Information also will be available on the search website.
