UB to host COVID-19 vaccination site

UB is continuing its vital role in the fight against COVID-19 by hosting a vaccination site on the South Campus for the Western New York community.

SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras announced on Monday that five SUNY institutions, including UB, will serve as vaccination sites for their respective regional communities.

Registration will be required. Additional information about the South Campus vaccination site, including a specific building location and hours of operation, will be provided at a later date.

The vaccines distributed on the South Campus will be provided to Western New York community members in accordance with guidelines developed by the New York State Department of Health. Members of the UB community should expect to be vaccinated according to the prioritization established by the state Department of Health.

Members of the UB community have worked tirelessly to respond to COVID-19 in myriad ways, whether caring for patients as frontline physicians in Western New York hospitals, volunteering in hard-hit areas like New York City, or conducting research on the virus and its impacts.

“The UB community has made many significant contributions in the fight against COVID-19 through its research, teaching and volunteer efforts. UB is proud to continue making a positive impact by serving as a vaccination site,” said President Satish K. Tripathi. “This will help bring the vaccines closer to the community, speeding up a return to normalcy for Western New Yorkers.”
