Organist Joshua Stafford to perform at UB

Concert organist and Jamestown native Joshua Stafford will present a recital on UB’s landmark Fisk Organ at 7:30 p.m. March 2 in Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall, North Campus.

The concert is presented by the Department of Music in collaboration with the Buffalo Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

The program includes works by Messiaen, Vierne, Bach, Lemare, Dvořák and Liszt.

Stafford studied at such distinguished institutions as the Curtis Institute of Music and the Yale School of Music. At Yale, he was the recipient of both a full-tuition scholarship and the Robert Baker Award, given to a first-year organ student who exhibits exceptional promise and achievement in his or her field of study.

Winner of the Pierre S. du Pont First Prize at the 2016 Longwood Gardens International Organ Competition, Stafford has performed on many notable organs and in respected venues, among them the Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia and the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
