UB employees eligible for solar discount

UB’s Office of Sustainability is hosting two lunch-and-learn sessions this month for faculty and staff interested in finding out more about a discount available for residential solar.

The discount — up to 17 percent off a solar installation through Nov. 30 — is available to UB employees through a solarize campaign initiated by the WNY Sustainable Business Roundtable. Any employee of a WNYSBR business, which includes UB, is eligible for the reduced rate.

Presentations will be held on the North and South campuses, and lunch will be provided at both:

  • Oct. 19, noon to 1 p.m., Center for Tomorrow, North Campus.
  • Oct. 24, noon to 1, 403 Hayes Hall, South Campus.

Register online to attend one of the sessions.

Most solar systems pay for themselves in about six years, while producing power for 25 years. The campaign discount pricing is combined with tax credits and incentives that further reduce the cost.

Visit the solarize campaign’s webpage for more information.
