Active shooter info sessions scheduled

Although the likelihood of a shooter on campus is remote, the UB community should be prepared for any situation.

UB Police say active shooter situations are unpredictable, evolve quickly and often last only 10 to 15 minutes. Before law enforcement arrives on the scene, individuals must be prepared — both mentally and physically — to deal with these situations.

To that end, UBPD is holding sessions on “How to respond to an active shooter” for all members of the campus community.

Sessions, which will last about 30 minutes, will take place in 210 Student Union at noon on Oct. 26, at noon and 4 p.m. on Nov. 9, and at 5 p.m. on Nov. 30.

Those who cannot attend a session can find additional information on this topic on UB’s emergency website.
