UB staff and domestic students are being recruited to serve as mentors for newly arrived international students during the spring 2015 semester. Participants need not know about other cultures, speak other languages or have traveled overseas.
The School of Public Health and Health Professions will offer, beginning in fall 2015, a 12-month accelerated master’s degree program in public health (MPH) with a concentration in health services administration and population health.
Nelson E. Townsend, former UB athletics director who guided the move of the athletics program from NCAA Division III to Division I, died Jan. 8 in Florida. Townsend collapsed before a meeting at Florida A&M University, where he was interim athletic director. He was 73.
