Changes set for shuttle service

Editor’s note

In 2019, the SUNY Board of Trustees revoked the naming of John and Editha Kapoor Hall as well as John Kapoor's honorary degree. More information is available in the university’s News Center.

Parking and Transportation Services has retooled the North Campus shuttle system with an eye toward making the system more efficient and easier to understand.

The Red, Yellow and Teal shuttle lines have been replaced by a single line that connects the entire North Campus.

The Green Line Express between the Center for Tomorrow Lot, Crofts Hall and Flint Loop will continue to run every 10 minutes.

During the peak weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., five shuttles will circle the North Campus, following the same 50-minute route and servicing all 18 designated stops on the route.

Shuttles will pick up passengers every 10 minutes at each stop during peak hours.

After 7:15 p.m., pickups will be every 10 to 20 minutes, until 1:45 a.m.

With a single North Campus shuttle, passengers no longer have to look for the “right” shuttle or determine connection points; all shuttles will be stopping at all destinations on campus.

Shuttles serving the Ellicott Complex will no longer travel through the gridlock of the Ellicott Tunnel; new stops have been established in front of Greiner Hall and at Moody Terrace at the entrance to the new Crossroads Culinary Center, which is expected to open in Red Jacket later this fall.

On the South Campus, Parking and Transportation Services has implemented an Orange Line Shuttle to accommodate the opening of John and Editha Kapoor Hall and the move of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences to the campus. The Orange Line is providing transportation around the South Campus, including service from the outlying parking areas, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. weekdays.

The line also serves as a connector to the Blue Line Shuttle, which travels from the South Campus to the Downtown Campus, and provides a link to the North Campus by connecting with the UB Stampede bus stops at Main Circle and Goodyear Hall.
