Request a New IT Project

An IT Project Intake Request is required by the UBIT Strategic Portfolio Management Office for initial review of any proposed IT application, software, or service that would require UBIT expertise or effort. The intent of this review is to ensure broad community awareness, to avoid redundant development or acquisition of solutions, and to facilitate service alignment with the University at Buffalo’s strategic goals.

Strategic project criteria

  • Requires a major version or architecture change to an application or service that introduces a significant change in behavior
  • Is highly visible across campus
  • Impacts a large constituency
  • Requires significant staff resources from the campus
  • Has a limited-term duration
  • Requires a significant financial investment from the campus
  • Creates operational efficiencies for the campus
  • Has been internally or externally mandated
  • Has been ranked in the top project set for one of our major constituency groups
  • Supports one or more of UB’s Institutional Strategic Priorities
