To check how much disk space is available to you log into ubnix.buffalo.edu. Once logged in, enter the command:   "/usr/ucb/quota -v".

To access your files on Wings you must login to ubunix.buffalo.edu with a Secure Shell (SSH) client.

If you are authorized by your department and comply with all applicable Policies, you may fill out the form to request a new website. If your request is granted, you will be given space on ubunix.buffalo.edu to save files and a URL where you can direct a Web browser.

If you need additional disk space you may fill out the Request Wings Web Services form. Include the reason for the increased disk usage. A request for more than a 10 percent increase requires approval and can take up to 4 weeks to complete.

For sites that have moved, we do not put in an apache redirect and a log file. What we recommend to you is the following:

Unix groups allow an organization to securely share information by granting file access to a group rather than a single individual. Each file still has an "owner" but that person can determine what group has access to the file and what type of persmissions they should have. For example, you may want to give someone permission to read a file, but not to modify it.
