Using an HTML Editor

Read instructions for using an “all-in-one” program that handles connecting and editing, such as Adobe Dreamweaver.

An “HTML editor” is a program used to write and edit Web pages. More advanced HTML editors such as Adobe Dreamweaver also help you connect to the Web server in order to upload your files.

A Web search for “free HTML editor” will provide you with alternative programs that you may install directly on your computer.

If you are connecting from off campus, you will need to use Anyconnect VPN Client [Win] [Mac] [Linux].

  2. Create a New Site (This only needs to be done once):
    1. On your computer, select the Site icon (which resembles three squares in tree view and is located on the far right side of the menu bar), then New Site. If you are using the Virtual Computing Lab through the Remote Desktop Client and the menu bar choices are concealed by the bar, click the button next to the x in the right hand corner to change from full-screen mode temporarily and then you can access the entire menu bar.
    2. Select Site.
    3. Enter a name for the site in the Site Name field.
    4. Choose any local folder.
    5. Select Servers.
    6. Click +.
    7. Select the Basic tab.
    8. Enter UBUnix for Server Name.
    9. Select SFTP in the Connect using field.

    13. Click Save. Click Save again.
