Faculty and staff can request lecture and event recordings from a range of digital recording types.
To request that lectures be recorded for current or future use, choose one of the following:
After the initial order is placed a Network and Classroom Services (NCS) staff member will contact you.
Most video recordings require use of a room outfitted with approprite technology and a Student Assistant to operate the equipment. Sufficient advance notice is therefore required when requesting video recording services. Rooms are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
Audio Only recording captures sound from microphones,
classroom computers, and DVD players. Files are uploaded to the
streaming server late in the evening and are available for use
shortly thereafter.

Enhanced Audio recording captures sound from microphones along with frame-grabbed video of any visual materials shown on the projector (e.g. laptop, Wolf Visualizer or classroom computer). Files are uploaded to the streaming server late in the evening and are available for use shortly thereafer.

Video recording (rich-media) captures full motion video of the instructor side-by-side with timed, higher quality “snapshots” of any visual materials shown on the projector. (e.g. laptop, Wolf Visualizer, or classroom computer). A student technician is present to manage camera operation and recording.
Files are uploaded to the streaming server shortly after recording. Depending on the use and the instructor’s preference the links can be added to UBlearns via a Video Access page or they can be sent to the instructor via email to distribute as desired.

Video recording (“broadcast” style) captures video and audio in a style similar to a “talk show”. Full motion video of the instructor is switched with full motion video of the visual materials at the appropriate times. A student technician is present to manage the switching, camera operation and recording.
Files are uploaded to the streaming server shortly after recording. Depending on the use and the instructor’s preference the links can be added to UBlearns via a Video Access page or they can be sent to the instructor via email to distribute as desired.
