Content uploaded to UB on iTunes U can be made available to the
general public or restricted to the UB community.
UB on iTunes U is located at itunes.buffalo.edu. There are two buttons, UB Content and Public Content. Find course materials through the UB Content button, which requires a UBIT username login. Publicly-available content does not require a login.
See the document about downloading
and subscribing to files from your course iTunes U site.
Faculty can request an iTunes U class site by visiting the UBlearns Class Setup tool. The course will be listed within the private, password protected, section of iTunes U. When a faculty member signs onto iTunes U, only the course(s) listed that have been enabled via the UBlearns Class Setup tool will be available. This is also true for students registered in a course. They will only see the course(s) faculty members have enabled to be listed in iTunes U.
From the UBlearns Class Setup tool main menu take the following steps:
Updates made through the UBlearns Class Setup tool take effect shortly after selecting Enable Save. This is different than enabling your Blackboard course which does not take effect until the following morning.
Faculty, schools, colleges, departments and administrative units can request a collection on UB’s public site on iTunes U. One or more people in the unit can have permission to upload and manage content. To request publicly accessible space on iTunes U send a request to iTunes U Support Team.
Watch a video tutorial about how to enable an iTunes U course.
Only the students who are registered in a course can see the content in the private tab of an iTunes U course. They can download it to their computer, iPod, or MP3 player. If a faculty member chooses to make some content available to people outside of the registered course he or she can place that content in the UB Content tab. Content in the UB Content tab can be seen and downloaded by anyone with a UBIT account. Content in an iTunes U Public site collection can be seen and downloaded by anyone who visits the UB iTunes U site.
