Prepare to use clickers in the classroom.
UB has selected Turning Technologies as the campus supported standard for classroom response system. Like any other technology, clickers have a learning curve and will require additional planning before, during and after class.
Review the TT supplied collection of documents intended to provide guidance and best practices to instructors. Included are syllabus recommendations, e-mail templates, instructional slides, transition materials and getting started guides.
Students can purchase clickers from the UB Bookstore at the same time they purchase their textbooks. Please notify the bookstore when you place your textbook order that you are planning on using clickers. All orders for clickers should be placed before the semester begins.

Alert students they are expected to participate in presentation / lectures by submitting responses to interactive questions via the response option that best fits your objectives. All students are required to create a Turning Account, redeem or purchase a license code and register a response device to respond to classroom interactive/polling questions. Direct students to the UBclicks for Students help site for details.
Training documents are available to walk instructors through software features and functionality.
Please contact the UBclicks Support Team to make an appointment for one-on-one help should the need arise.
All of the groundwork is complete. You are ready to deliver your lecture. Prepare to adjust the pacing of the lecture to accommodate the process of students responding with clickers. Comfort and mastery of this tool will increase with each use. Our technology classrooms are rigorously maintained, however, in the unlikely instance of a clicker system failure, adjustments should be made for a work around.
