Setting Up Your Device

Learn how to register your clicker or ResponseWare with UBlearns, change the channel and use ResponseWare to answer a question in a class.

Registering Clickers and ResponseWare on UBlearns

  1. Log in to your course on UBlearns.
  2. Select Tools from the menu on the left.
  3. Select TurningPoint Registration Tool.
  4. Enter your Clicker ID, a six-character hexadecimal number located on the back of your clicker. Clicker IDs use letters A-F and numbers 0-9 only. Click Submit.
  5. Click OK.

Determining If Your Clicker Firmware is Up To Date

Press your clicker's MENU button.

  • If the firmware is up to date, Leave Presentation Mode? [Y/N] will appear. Select Yes.
  • If not, update the firmware.

Changing the Channel

  1. Press the clicker's MENU button.
  2. Use the down arrow key (Yes) to select Change Channel from the menu list.
  3. Press Enter. The current channel will be displayed.
    • If the channel is correct, press Enter.
    • If you need to change the channel, enter the new number on the keypad, then press Enter.
  4. If you selected a channel in range, the display will show that the channel was changed and a receiver found.
  5. If there was a problem finding that channel in range, the display will show that no receiver was found on that channel within range of your clicker.

Using ResponseWare on a Smartphone

The UB wireless network may be insufficient to support all student ResponseWare connection attempts. UB recommends that students use clickers (ResponseCard models RF, XR or NXT).

  1. Download ResponseWare from the App Store.
  2. Launch ResponseWare.
  3. Enter Session ID and Name.
  4. Touch Join.
  5. Questions and possible answers will appear on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Touch the answer you want to select.
  6. The results will display on your phone.

Using ResponseWare with a Web Browser

The UB wireless network may be insufficient to support all student ResponseWare connection attempts. UB recommends that students use clickers (ResponseCard models RF, XR or NXT).

  1. Go to www.rwpoll.com.
  2. Type in the Session ID and click Join.
  3. Questions and possible answers will be presented. Enter the number that corresponds with your selection.
  4. The results will display.
