How can I request software be added?

Suggestions for additional software in My Virtual Computing Lab are always welcome. Contact the UBIT Help Center with the name of the software and a request that it be added to My Virtual Computing Lab. If you can, add a few words about how the software would benefit your classes, projects or activities.

Guidelines for Requesting Software

Software requests for My Virtual Computing Lab are evaluated on a request-by-request basis according to these general guidelines:

  1. Requested software should address instructional or analytical needs for multiple individuals for at least a course or a department. Software may be restricted to course or departmental usage.
  2. Software requests for administrative purposes will not be considered. Administrative software requests should be forwarded to the appropriate support organization for their consideration.
  3. Software must be properly licensesd for a virtual, multiple-use computing environment. No individually licensed software may be made available using My Virtual Computing Lab.
  4. Software will be reviewed on an annual basis, or sooner if license changes require re-evaluation. License changes may require that software titles be withdrawn from My Virtual Computing Lab at any time, with appropriate notice.
