FileZilla is a fast and reliable FTP client with secure (SFTP) capabilities, lots of useful features and an intuitive interface. It supports all the basic functions to browse servers and transfer multiple files simultaneously. FileZilla is useful for individuals who want to transfer files from their home computer to a UNIX account, such as on UBUnix.

FileZilla may be downloaded by faculty, staff and students.

When connecting to UB with the Quick Connect bar:

• Enter sftp:// ubunix.buffalo.edu in the host field
• Enter 22 in the port field

To define a new site in the Site Manager:

• Enter ubunix.buffalo.edu in the host field.
• Select SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol in Servertype.
• Select Ask for password in Logintype.
