AnyConnect: Windows Download for UB-Owned Computers

Securely connects to UB from off-campus to access UB services that require a UB IP address (previously known as UBVPN).

The vendor has changed the name of the product from Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client to Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.

Eligibility

AnyConnect for UB-owned computers may be installed on computers owned by the University at Buffalo

Export Control Notice

VPN may be subject to the U.S. Export Administration Regulations and other U.S. law, and may not be exported or re-exported to certain countries or to persons or entities prohibited from receiving U.S. exports. You are responsible for using VPN in accordance with the requirements of U.S. law, and you hereby certify that you will comply with all export laws and restrictions and regulations of the Department of Commerce or other United States authority, and not export or allow the re-export of VPN in violation of any such restrictions, laws or regulations.

Installing AnyConnect

  1. Download the client.
  2. Double click on the Cisco AnyConnect software icon. (If using Windows 8, from the Start screen, tap or click the Desktop tile, then tap or click the Libraries icon in the Navigation pane. Tap or click Downloads, then double-click on the Cisco AnyConnect software icon.)
  3. Click on Next on the Welcome screen.
  4. Click on the bubble beside I accept the terms in the License Agreement.
  5. Click Next on the End-User License Agreement screen.
  6. Click Install on the Ready to Install screen.
  7. Depending on your computer’s security level you may be prompted by Windows to allow the AnyConnect client to change your PC. Accept the prompt to continue.
  8. Click Finish to complete the installation.
