Print from Mobile Device Printeron App to a Public Computing Site

Learn how to set up your phone or tablet to print to UB public computing sites from cloud services such as UBbox, Dropbox, iCloud and more.

1. Download and Install the PrinterOn App

2. Configure the PrinterOn App

Set up the UB Service

  1. Launch the PrinterOn app
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap Services
  4. Tap the + (plus sign)
    • Server iprintanywhere.acsu.buffalo.edu
    • Path /cps
    • SSL on
    • Default Service on
  5. Tap Test Service. You should see a Success message. Tap OK. If not, double-check your settings carefully.

Set up the User Accounts

  1. Return to the app home screen with the left arrow if necessary.
  2. Tap User Accounts
  3. Tap the + (plus sign)
    • Account: Your UBITName
    • Password: Your UBITName Password
    • Description: UB
    • PrinterOn Hosted: off
    • iprintanywhere.acsu.buffalo.edu/cps: on

3. Send a Document to the Printer

Select a File from a Cloud Service

With the PrinterOn app, you can print documents from any cloud services supported by your device, like UBbox, Apple iCoud and Dropbox.

  1. From the app's home screen, tap Documents 
  2. Select an available cloud service (See how to set up UBbox >)
  3. Tap the file you wish to print. It is uploaded. (See supported file types >)

Select a Printer

  1. Near the bottom of the screen, tap the large, white PrinterOn Printing Service button
  2. Near the bottom of the screen, tap the Enterprise icon, resmbling a key
  3. Tap a printer from the list. Make sure you only choose a color printer of you need it, or you will be charged for a color print.
  4. Tap Print
  5. Enter your UBITName
  6. Confirm your UBITName by typing it again
  7. Tap the checkmark in the upper right
  8. Tap Print History to check on the status of your documents.

4. Release Your Printout

Either the Web form or a Release Station must be used to release documents submitted from Bell 101, QuickConnect stations or your own computer.

Using the Web Form

Are you off campus?

 Run AnyConnect and then follow the directions below.

  1. Go to https://myiprint.buffalo.edu:7773
  2. Enter your UBITName and password, then click Secure Log In.
  3. Tick the checkbox next to the  the document(s) you want to print.
  4. Select the "purse" to print from. The default is "UB Quota," but you can click Next Purse to see or select other available purses, such as Campus Cash.
  5. Click Pay and Print My Documents.

Using a Release Station

Release stations must be used to release print jobs submitted from Bell 101, QuickConnect stations or your own computer.

  1. Log into the Print Release station with your UBITName and UBITName password (see locations).
  2. Click the Next or Sign In button.
  3. The iprint pop-up window displays your available UB Quota, a list of your documents and the cost per document.
  4. Select the document(s) you want to print; iprint displays the total price.
  5. Confirm if you will use your UB Quota Purse to print. (You can use other purses, including Campus Cash, from the pop-up window--click Next Purse to see or select other available purses.)
  6. Click Continue to confirm your selection.
  7. Use the Back button to change your selected documents or purse.
  8. Click Here to Accept the Charge and Start Printing. Your documents will be sent to the printer.

5. Pick Up Your Document

If you are in a computing site with a print service counter, your document(s) will be filed by the first letter of your UBITName. Otherwise, you may pick them up directly from the printer.
