Connect to UB's Network

Learn about the different ways to connect to the Internet at UB.

Connect on campus

Make sure to pick the right Wi-Fi network for your mobile device or laptop.

  • UB Secure - Secure Wi-Fi for everyone with a valid UBITName and password. Use UB Secure WiFiSetup to configure your device from on or off campus, then automatically connect at UB.
  • eduroam - Secure Wi-Fi for everyone with a valid UBITName and password, as well as visitors from participating schools.
  • UB Guest - for visitors and guests (requires an email address for registration). This network is not available in Richmond Quad or other buildings with Wi-Fi Boost.
  • UB Connect - for visitors and guests (requires an email address for registration). Only available in Richmond Quad or other buildings with Wi-Fi Boost.

Live at UB?

In addition to UB Secure Wi-Fi, those living in UB's Residence Halls and apartments may also connect to:

  • ResNet - Use an ethernet cable to plug in your computer and connect to this high speed network (requires device registration), which is 1,000x faster than Wi-Fi.
  • UB Gaming - Used for gaming and media devices without browsers (requires device registration). Not available in Richmond Quad.
  • UB Connect - Available only in Richmond Quad, this network allows you to register gaming and media devices. (requires device registration)

Live off campus?

Download and install Cisco AnyConnect ("virtual private network" software), and use your Internet Service Provider to connect to protected resources on the UB network, including:
