Running the Off-Campus VPN Client AnyConnect on Apple iOS

Get started running the VPN client AnyConnect on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. AnyConnect provides secure access to a restricted network from another network.

Initial Configuration for AnyConnect on Apple iOS

  1. The first time you open the AnyConnect application a pop-up window will prompt you to enable the software. Click OK.
  2. In the upper left corner of the application, switch the AnyConnect VPN to ON.
  3. A window will prompt you for the VPN settings. Complete the following:
    • Enter UB VPN in the Description field.
    • Enter ubvpn.buffalo.edu in the Server Address field.
    • Turn Network Roaming to ON.
    • Use Certificates will be disabled.
  4. Click Save to save the settings to your device.

Using AnyConnect on Apple iOS

  1. Open the AnyConnect application on your device.
  2. In the upper left corner of the application, switch the AnyConnect VPN to ON.
  3. Enter your UBITName and password when prompted, then click Accept in the banner pop-up.
