Connecting on Campus using UB Secure with Apple iOS

Configure your Apple iOS device for a secure connection to the UB network on campus.

Connecting to Wi-Fi on Campus

UB Secure is the recommended access choice for UB's campus network. Your UBITName and password and all data transmitted from your device to the wireless access point (the campus network) are encrypted.

If you are connecting with an iOS device, it must be running at least iOS 5.

Configure your Apple iOS device to connect to UB Secure

Use UB Secure WiFiSetup instead to configure and stay automatically connected anytime you’re on campus.

Use the manual instructions below only if UB Secure WiFiSetup doesn't work for your device.

If you are connected to UB_Wireless, highlight UB_Wireless and select Forget the Network.

  1. Go to Settings and select Wi-Fi.
  2. Select Other in Wi-Fi Networks.
  3. In the Other Network window:
    • Enter UB_ Secure (this is case-sensitive) for Name (Network Name).
    • In Security. Select WPA2 Enterprise.
  4. Select Other Network near the top of the screen.
  5. Use your keyboard to enter your UBITName in the username field and your UBITName password in the Password field.
  6. Select Join.
  7. If prompted, click Accept for the AddTrust External CA Root certificate.
