Running the Off-Campus VPN Client AnyConnect on Android Operating System

Get started running the VPN client AnyConnect on Android. AnyConnect provides secure access to a restricted network from another network.

Initial Configuration of AnyConnect on Android:

If you install the incorrect client for your device, you will receive an error message upon launching the application.

Select the AnyConnect icon on your home screen.
On the AnyConnect home screen select Add New VPN Connection.
Complete the following:
- Enter UB VPN for Description
- Enter ubvpn.buffalo.edu for Server Address
- The Certificate field will be disabled
Click Done to save your settings.

Make sure you have a Wi-Fi connection before using AnyConnect.

Launch the AnyConnect application.
Select UB_Secure.
When prompted, enter your UBITName and password.
In the top row of the AnyConnect home screen, a highlighted checkmark will show that the VPN connection has been established.

Once you are connected, you can access services like iprint anywhere as if you were on campus.

When Am I on-campus?

Some UB services such as UBfs and iprint anywhere require that you are on-campus to use them.
