Set up a smartphone, such as an iPhone, Android or Windows
Mobile phone, to access UBmail Powered by Google.
To set up access to UBmail Powered by Google from your
smartphone:
- Configure your phone's built-in email client to use UB's
IMAP and SMTP mail settings.
- Use your phone's built-in email client to read email after you
configure it for UBmail powered by Google.
You can configure any iOS device, including iPhones and iPads,
to read your UBMail Powered by Google email.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Tap Add Account.
- Tap Other.
- Enter the following:
- Your first and last name in the Name field
- Your UBITName@buffalo.edu email address in the Address
field
- Your UBIT password in the Password field
- A name for the connection, such as UBMail, in the
Description field
- Enter imap.buffalo.edu for the Incoming Mail Server
Host Name.
- Enter your UBITName in the Username field.
- Enter your UBIT password in the Password field.
- Enter smtp.buffalo.edu for Outgoing Mail Server
SMTP.
- Enter your UBITName in the Username field.
- Enter your UBIT password in the Password field.
- Tap Save.
Use your phone's built-in email client to read email after you
configure it for UBmail Powered by Google.
