Forwarding Your Email from Exchange Mail

Use email forwarding to take mail destined for one email address and redirect it to a different email address. You can set a forward so email addressed to your UBmail Powered by Exchange address is delivered to a non-UB email address.

Setting up an Automatic Forward

Outlook 2013

  1. Go into Manage Rules & Alerts in Outlook
  2. Create a New Rule
  3. Select Apply rule on messages I receive and click Next
    1. Clear all check boxes in “Select Conditions”, click next and click Yes when asked “This rule will be applied to every message you receive.  Is that correct?”
    2. Select “Redirect it to…” checkbox, click on the People or Public Group link under step 2 and enter the email address to forward to in the To: box. Click OK
    3. Select “Permanently Delete it”, click Yes and “Stop processing more rules” checkboxes and click Next
    4. Enter any exceptions if desired and click Next
    5.  Provide a name for the rule and click Finish

Outlook OWA (Exchowa)

  1. Go to Options | See All Options
  2. On the left, select Organize E-Mail, then click Inbox Rules
  3. Click New to create a new rule
    1. Select [Apply to all messages] under “When the message arrives”
    2. Select Redirect the message to and enter the email address to forward to in the To-> box
    3. Click OK
    4. Click More Options and then Add Action
    5. Select Move, Copy or Delete | Delete the Message
    6. Check the Stop Processing More Rules checkbox
    7. Provide a name for the rule and click Save

Outlook 2011 for Mac

  1. Select Mail in the View Switcher.
  2. Select Tools > Rules and Alerts.
    • If you have more than one email account in your Outlook email profile, click the Inbox to which you want the new rule to apply for Apply changes to this folder.
  3. Click New Rule.
  4. Select Check messages when they arrive. Click Next.
  5. Select each condition that you want the incoming message to match for Step 1: Select condition(s).
  6. Click the underlined value that corresponds to the condition for Step 2: Edit the rule description. In the popup window that appears, select or enter the necessary information for the condition. Click OK.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Select forward it to people or distribution list for Step 1: Select action(s).
  9. Click people or distribution list for Step 2: Edit the rule description.
  10. In one of the address lists, double click the recipient to whom you want to forward the messages. Click OK.
  11. Click Next twice.
  12. Enter a name for Step 1: Specify a name for this rule.
    • Select Run this rule now on messages already in "folder name” to run this rule on the messages that are already in your folders.
    • Select Create this rule on all accounts to apply this rule to all of your email accounts and inboxes. (This option is not selectable if you do not have more than one e-mail account or Inbox.)
  13. Click Finish.
  14. Click OK.
