Erase Exchange Data from Your Smartphone

If you lose your smartphone or want to upgrade to a newer model, ensure that Exchange messages cannot be read by erasing (wiping) your Exchange data.

If your phone is lost or stolen, you should also contact your service provider to deactivate it.

Erase Your Exchange Data

  1. Open Outlook Web Access (OWA) at https://exchowa.buffalo.edu.
  2. Sign onto OWA with your UBITName and password.
  3. Click on the Options button in the upper right corner and scroll down to Mobile Devices on the left.
  4. Click on the desired smartphone to highlight it and click Wipe all data from device…
  5. Smartphone status will change to “pending”. The next time the device connects to the service provider's network or a wireless network, it will receive the wipe command and erase all data from the device.
  6. You will receive an automated email once the device is wiped.
