See Basic Features of Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is the default email client for UBmail Powered by Exchange. After your department’s IT support staff sets up your Exchange mail account, familiarize yourself with Outlook.

About Microsoft Outlook

Outlook is part of the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Outlook is an email application that includes extras like a calendar, contact manager and a journal to help you keep a record of email interactions you want to remember.

Using the Web Version of Microsoft Outlook

Outlook Web Access (OWA), at http://exchowa.buffalo.edu, is the Web version of Microsoft Outlook.

At times when you do not have access to your desktop version of Microsoft Outlook you can log into Outlook Web Access through a Web browser.

To log into OWA, enter: 

  • your domain\username you use to log into your profile on your UB-owned computer
  • the password you use to log into your profile on your UB-owned computer
  • the two CAPTCHA codes displayed on the screen
