Getting Started with UB Exchange Mail

Become acquainted with the basics of UBmail Powered by Exchange. Learn about Microsoft Outlook email client and see how to access Exchange mail on the Web.

Microsoft Outlook is the default email client for UBmail Powered by Exchange. After your department’s IT support staff sets up your Exchange mail account, familiarize yourself with Outlook.

View a partial list of organizational units at UB that have a percentage of employees who use UBmail Powered by Exchange (Exchange mail).

Set up Outlook 2007 for use with UBmail Powered by Exchange. You must be a faculty or staff member and your email must be on UBmail Powered by Exchange.

Set up Outlook 2010 or 2013 for use with UBmail Powered by Exchange. You must be a faculty or staff member and your email must be on UBmail Powered by Exchange.

When you're not at your work computer, you can read your UBmail Powered by Exchange mail using a Web browser. Different browsers allow you access to different features.

Set up Outlook 2011 for Macintosh for use with UBmail Powered by Exchange. You must be a faculty or staff member and your email must be on UBmail Powered by Exchange.

If you do not want to read your Exchange mail in a Web browser (exchowa.buffalo.edu) or use Outlook, you can use these settings with another email client such as Thunderbird.
