Learn how to report messages to help eliminate spam on UB servers.

What is Spam?

Spam involves irrelevant or unsolicited e-mail messages typically sent to a large number of people for the purposes of advertising. It is often from someone you do not know or is sent anonymously.  

Instructions

UBmail Powered by Exchange

Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Web App

  1. Create a new email message.
  2. Enter is-spam@labs.sophos.com in the To email address. 
  3. From your Inbox, select the sample email that you received (you must select the email, not the content).
  4. Drag then drop the selected item(s) into the new email.
  5. This will now be displayed as a new email with the sample email as an attachment.
  6. Send the email with the subject line of your choice.

Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Select the sample email message.
  2. From the toolbar choose Message.
  3. Select Forward AsAttachment.
  4. Enter is-spam@labs.sophos.com in the To email address. 
  5. Send the newly created email with the subject line of your choice.

Mac Mail

  1. Select the sample email message.
  2. Right-click the message.
  3. Select Forward as Attachment.
  4. Enter is-spam@labs.sophos.com in the To email address. 
  5. Send the newly created email with the subject line of your choice.
