Connecting On Campus using UB Secure with Nook Color

Configure your Nook Color for a secure connection to the UB network on campus.

Connecting to Wi-Fi on Campus

eduroam is the recommended access choice for UB's campus network. Your UB email address and UBITName password and all data transmitted from your device to the wireless access point (the campus network) are encrypted.

Create a Nook Color profile for UB Secure:

  1. Select Settings from the Nook options menu.
  2. Select Wireless from the Device Settings group.
  3. Select Other Network from the Wireless Networks list. This brings up the Add Wi-Fi network dialog.
  4. Enter the following information:
    • Enter eduroam (this is case sensitive) for Network SSID
    • Select 802.1x EAP for Security
    • Enter your UBITName immediately followed by for login
    • Enter your UBIT password for the wireless password
  5. Touch Save.

The Nook will connect to eduroam automatically when in range of UB's Wi-Fi network.

Use eduroam at UB and When You Travel

Once you set up eduroam Wi-Fi, you're automatically able to use it at hundreds of universities and colleges around the world, in addition to UB.  No extra steps required.
