Configuring eduroam Manually with Kindle Fire

Connect your Kindle Fire to UB's Wi-Fi when you are on campus.

Note:

You must be on campus and in range of a Wi-Fi signal to connect your Kindle Fire to UB's Wi-Fi.

Configuring Your Kindle Fire

  1. Pull down the menu bar by tapping the settings gear icon.
  2. Tap the Wi-Fi icon.
  3. If Wireless Networking or Wi-Fi are OFF, tap ON.
  4. Select eduroam from the list of Wi-Fi connections.
  5. Select PEAP as the EAP method
  6. Select MSCHAPV2 as Phase 2 authentication.
  7. Leave both CA certificate and User certificate blank.
  8. Enter your UBITName immediately followed by @buffalo.edu in the Identity field.
  9. Leave Anonymous Identity blank.
  10. Enter your UBITName Password in the Password field.
  11. Tap Connect to establish a connection. If you do not see a Connect button, tap the keyboard button and then tap  Connect.
  12. You should see Connected next to the eduroam Wi-Fi connection.

Use eduroam at UB and When You Travel

Once you set up eduroam Wi-Fi, you're automatically able to use it at hundreds of universities and colleges around the world, in addition to UB.  No extra steps required.
