Benjamin Blanchet (UB student, Class of 2018) is an English major with an interest in journalism. After graduating from UB, he hopes to attend grad school and pursue a career writing about music and the arts. An Albany, NY native, Benjamin enjoys biking and reading in his spare time.

August 2017 marked the first move-in weekend that Tech Squad was available for students.

The Tech Squad assisted students in on-campus residences throughout move-in weekend. Students can continue to book an appointment with the Tech Squad online or by calling the UBIT Help Center at 716-645-3542.

During the rest of the fall or spring semester, the Tech Squad is available Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Student-to-student assistance

What makes Tech Squad unique is their understanding of student tech concerns, given they are students themselves. Whether help is needed connecting devices for gaming or academics, members of the Tech Squad understand their fellow student needs.

"There’s a certain level of trust built in, especially for newer students," said Ken Stephens, IT Customer Service Analyst and Tech Squad Supervisor. "Knowing that they're working with a student that's been through a problem, there’s comfort in the fact that they've been through all the same thing."
