Webex Personal Conference or Audio-Only Meetings

Use a Webex Personal Conference Account to set up your own phone conference number audio-only meetings using the telephone.

Set Up a Personal Conference Account

UB's Webex enables you to set up and store up to 3 Personal Conference number accounts. For each account, you generate host and attendee access codes.

  1. Go to ub.webex.com.
  2. Click Sign in in the upper left.
  3. Enter your full @buffalo.edu email address. You will be redirected to a UB login page.
  4. Enter your UBITName and password.
  5. Go to My Webex > Preferences. If you do not see the My WebEx tab, click Classic View in the left-hand menu.
  6. Go to Audio and click Set up.
  7. Scroll to Audio PIN and enter a 4 digit PIN number and click Save.
  8. Under Personal Conferencing > Accounts, click Generate account > Generate > Close.
  9. You will receive an email from messenger@webex.com that your personal room was set up and ready for use. 
  10. The phone number to join the call will be noted in the email along with the access code. There will also be a link to Global call-in numbers.

Connecting to a Personal Conference Meeting

When scheduling a Personal Conference meeting, select one of your Personal Conference number accounts to use for the meeting. You can use a Personal Conference number account to start an instant audio conference from any phone without scheduling it first.

  1. The host, and all participants, call the Personal Conference number (usually 1-240-454-0887).
  2. The host enters the Host Access Code and then the Audio PIN number.
  3. Attendees enter the Attendee Access Code.

Note: If the host leaves the meeting, the meeting will stay active for 5 more minutes before ending automatically.
