Scheduling and Using Collaborative Learning Spaces

Find out what steps you should take to reserve a collaborative learning space and read tips for using the rooms.

Respect the Guidelines for Using Collaboration Rooms

  • Have an active UBITName.
  • Reserve the room in 30 minute blocks up to 2 hours at a time.
    • Extend the session at the end of 2 hours if nobody is scheduled.
    • DO NOT use the room unless you have it reserved and have a key checked out.
    • Reservations that start without checking out a key will be cancelled and rebooked.
  • Lock the room when you leave, do not leave valuables even if the room is locked.
  • Leave the room prompltly when the building is closed. Heed fire alarms.
  • Bring in only closed beverage containers. Food smells and spills are distracting to people who follow you.
  • Report any non-working equipment by phoning (716) 645-2803.

Choosing, Reserving, and Using a Room

  1. Find a room with a room capacity and configuration that best matches your work.
  2. Find out what hours Lockwood Library is open. You can only use the room when the library is open.
  3. Schedule the room
    • Learn how to use the RoomWizard to reserve a room online. Reservations may be made for up to 1 week in advance. Be careful not to schedule your reservation for a time when the library is closed. Be sure to use your full name as it appears on your UB Card.
    • Go to the Lockwood Library circulation desk with your UB Card. You will be checking out a key for the room you have reserved.
      • If you are more than 15 minutes late, someone else can claim your reservation.
      • You must return the key after your 2 hour period is up.  Failure to do so will result in the following fines: late return of room keys accrue at $0.05 per minute; $3 per hour. The maximum fine is $30.  Replacement fees for a lost key will be $20.00.
      • The person who checks out the key MUST be the person who returns it.
      • Be sure to lock the door when you leave.
