Configure Chrome and Java for SUNY WebConnect (Macintosh and Windows)

Operating System: Windows Vista and above; Mac OS 10.8 and above

1. Configure Chrome

  1. Open Chrome (Must use Chrome 33 or higher).
  2. From the Customize and Control Google Chrome icon, select Settings.
  3. Select Show advanced settings (at the bottom of the screen).
  4. Select Privacy > Content settings.
  5. Scroll down. Select Pop-ups > Manage exceptions.
  6. Enter [*.] in the Hostname Pattern field.
  7. Click Done. Click Done again.

2. Configure Java

  1. Click Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Macintosh). Click Java.
  2. Click About. You must use Java 8.25.
    • If you are using Java 7.X, uninstall it and install Java 8.25 instead. When done, click Control Panel, then Java.
    • If you are using Java 8.25, proceed to step 3.
  3. In the Security tab, click Edit Site List.
  4. Click Add, then enter http://* and click OK. Click Continue.
  5. Click Add, then enter and click OK. Click Continue.
  6. Click Add, then enter and click OK. Click Continue
  7. Click OK.
