A change in your affiliation with UB can mean that you no longer have access to the same services as you previously did. This may be due to retirement, graduation, not enrolling in courses, or lapses in appointment paperwork. [More...]

UB alumni can opt in with an offer from the alumni association and retain their UB email address for life. You retain access to MyUB and HUB indefinitely. Other services only remain for 6 months beyond your conferral date. These include access to your UBfs space, UBlearns and your UB website. If you do not choose to opt in, you will also lose access to your UBmail 6 months after your degree conferral date.

If you are not enrolled but are on an official Leave of Absence or are finishing a grade of Incomplete, you are eligible to continue to have access to your UBIT account. Students on official Leaves of Absence, once their leaves are processed by the Office of the Registrar, automatically retain access. Students working on an Incomplete must make arrangements to extend their account.

Your UBIT account remains active for the summer if you were enrolled at UB for the spring semester.

Your name associated with your UBITName and entry in the UB Online Directory is based on institutional data on record with the Office of the Registrar (students) or UB Human Resources (faculty, staff and official volunteers).  It can be changed only by submitting proof of a legal name change to the appropriate office for your status.

The name that appears in the Online Directory and is associated with your UBITName must be your name as it appears in your official University records. Requests for name changes are processed through the appropriate University at Buffalo administrative office.

Once your name change is official with the Office of the Registrar (Students) or Human Resources (Faculty and Staff), you may request a new UBITName.

Administrative UBITNames receive IT Status Change Notices when they are set to expire. To renew your Administrative UBITName, contact the CIT Help Desk from the administrative account. Accounts can be renewed for 2, 6 or 12 months.

The name and dat that appear in the Online Directory and is associated with your UBITName is your name as it appears in your official University records, and data that is associated with it. Once your UBITName is deactivated, it cannot be reactivated for reasons such as changing an email forward.

All former students, whether or not they graduate from UB, retain access to MyUB and HUB indefinitely.
