Some services at UB require special accounts, including accounts
for business purposes. These include administrative accounts
for departmental email contact or editing Web pages on Wings and
survey service accounts.
Faculty and Staff may request an administrative account to use for conducting university business, such as sending email from a service-named account, logging in to resources or editing Wings websites.
Employees authorized to access information on the university's mainframe use a CICS account to sign on to CICS using the Host on Demand (HOD) desktop interface. You must also be authorized to access HOD.
Get Oracle database connectivity. Academic Oracle System (AOS) accounts are used for courses requiring Oracle, Independent Study projects, research projects and personal education for those who want to learn about databases.
Create and distribute online surveys and analyze and report survey responses. The service, available to faculty, staff and students, is an application hosted by Vovici⢠and is licensed per individual through UB.
