UB is celebrating Bring Your Kids to Work Day on Monday, April 27, 2015, and the festivities will kick off at 9 a.m. with breakfast and a keynote address on how children (and their parents) can stay safe online.

Blake Cooper (UB Student, Class of 2016) is originally from Canandaigua, NY. He is studying Spanish, Linguistics and Comparative Literature, and beginning work on translating an Argentinian novel into English.

Members of the UB community are invited to join Information Security Analyst Dr. Catherine J. Ullman in Student Union Theater to learn about appropriate sharing on social media, outsmarting identity thieves and more.

Catherine says the keynote address will seize an opportunity to talk about an issue relevant to children and adults alike. “This message isn’t limited to young people,” Catherine said. “I’ll be speaking to the adults in the room as parents and to also help keep their own personal information safe themselves.”

Other events planned for the day include tours of Alumni Arena, a math workshop, an art program demonstration and a preview of this summer’s upcoming field ecology camp. Anyone interested in taking part is encouraged to register online for the day’s events.
