It’s our pleasure to welcome four new staff members to
CIT. In January, Tim Busch and Kyle Anderson joined Enterprise
Application Services (EAS). Craig Carson and Tim Knab also started
with Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) in February.

Kyle recently transitioned from the UB School of Engineering;
he’s been working with UB since he was a student and also
obtained his MBA here. Kyle’s role as an Application
Developer is focused on the PeopleSoft system, providing support
for UB student records. Away from UB, he enjoys hiking and walks.
“I’m enjoying meeting new people in EAS,” Kyle
said. “There’s a broad range of talent here and always
more to learn.”
Tim Busch joins UB after working 12 years working for Health Care
Technologies, where he did contract work for Blue Cross/Blue Shield
throughout the U.S. “I graduated from UB and wanted to be
part of a more stable environment,” Tim said. “I heard
about the Application Developer opening through a friend who also
works for EAS.” Tim is the newest member of the support team
for Maximo, an asset management system used by the UB Facilities
team.
Craig is EIS’ newest Client Technologies Technician. He
previously provided Desktop Support for a medical company and
taught at a middle school. Outside of UB, he enjoys the arts:
music, playing guitar, drums, harmonica, and singing. “I love
the atmosphere at UB,” Craig said. “I came to UB for my
Master’s degree and previously had an internship here doing
tech support.”
Tim Knab is hardly a stranger to UB, joining CIT as a Senior
Systems Administrator after working for University Life and
Services since 2003. He graduated from UB just
three years earlier and gained experience with Univera Healthcare
in between. "I came to CIT because I knew that it would be a great
opportunity to grow technically and professionally," Tim said. In
his spare time, he keeps busy playing basketball, softball, and
touch football. Tim also enjoys playing with his kids and going for
walks with his family.
“The diverse experience and perspectives of CIT staff
enhances partnerships with our UB colleagues,” said Susan
Huston, Director of Enterprise Application Services. “Having
a broad range of talent allows us to deliver innovative and
effective solutions to the entire University
community.”

iPhone usage by students is up in every UB school. Students in
the School of Nursing reported the biggest increase this year-
their iPhone usage jumped from 18.6% in 2011 to 45.9% in 2012.
Verizon Wireless is currently the carrier of choice of students at
UB, with 39% using their service.
In 2012, more students reported connecting to Wi-Fi through UB
Secure. 74% reported securely connecting vs. 67% in 2011.
