Computing and Information Technology (CIT) plans to upgrade the
Wings server hardware during the week of March 12th during
Spring Break, replacing current hardware with new virtualized
servers.
This upgrade should significantly improve your experience on Wings-hosted websites and enable additional upgrades when performance issues demand them.
The new virtual Wings environment is configured with identical system, libraries, applications and file system to eliminate any functionality issues. We anticipate a very smooth transition.
It is possible, however, that some of your pages and
applications may not function properly on the new virtual Wings
environment. If you are a Wings site owner, see
the directions for viewing and testing your Web content on the
new virtual Wings environment.
If you have additional questions or concerns, please send them to the Wings upgrade project team.
