The Workstation Standards Team at UB recommends you do not upgrade to Windows 8 at this time, although Windows 8 upgrade is available for purchase.

UB’s Public Computing Sites will not upgrade to Windows 8 this semester.
UB has begun testing software programs and services that are commonly used at UB to determine whether they work with Windows 8.
Microsoft and other vendors offer information about Windows 8 functionality with their products. Be sure that the software you need works with Windows 8 before purchasing new equipment or upgrading.
