On August 16, 2016, the way you connect to UB resources with a Virtual Private Network (VPN) from off campus will change.
UB customers will have to use a new address, vpn.buffalo.edu, in any program or app you are using (such as the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client). The old address, ubvpn.buffalo.edu, will no longer work. Next, select “UBVPN” from the group drop down menu.
These changes will affect anyone connecting to protected, general purpose UB resources from off campus, such as My Virtual Computing Lab, the UB File Service (Ubfs), or the Central Campus Web Server (Wings). Anyone using departmental VPNs or two-factor authentication to connect will not be affected by these changes.
If you need help or have questions about the changes to UB VPN, contact the UBIT Help Center at 716-645-3542 or www.buffalo.edu/ubit/help or stop by the Lockwood 2nd Floor Cybrary (North Campus) or Abbott 1st Floor Health Sciences Library (South Campus).
