UBIT has an established full-service help center on South Campus, assuring convenient walk-up IT support to UB students, faculty and staff.

UB students, staff and faculty can come to Abbott Health Sciences Library for help managing UBITNames, printing, identity assurance and cybrary services. The Help Center is co-located in the Print Service Center at 155 Abbott, near the Whispers Café.

Abbott’s Help Center is the first Help Center on South Campus, providing easier access for students that would have to head to North Campus for IT help otherwise.

Just like the Lockwood location, UB community members can walk up and get help from a UBIT staff member for any technical problems. The support that is provided at Lockwood laid the framework for the new Help Center location.

The new location is a component of UB’s 2020 plan, which is intended to modernize UB’s historic buildings into state-of-the-art teaching and learning centers. It was apparent that it was time for South Campus to receive its own help center after the annual UBIT Student IT Experience survey showed great interest.

Coming soon: UB Tech Squad

Later this fall, UBIT plans on launching the UB Tech Squad. These mobile units will provide similar support as the UBIT Help Center locations, but directly to students in on-campus apartments or residence halls by appointment. Keep an eye on the UBIT website for more information.
